Certain cards that destroy others sometimes don't negate, say a mirror force is activated and the turn player activates a mystical space typhoon(quick-play). MST would be a pointless activation because it dosent negate mirror force. Say a monster that is equipped with a union that when it would be destroyed the monster equipped would be destroyed instead. When the equipped monster attacks a mirror force is activated, the other attack position monsters of the turn players monsters are destroyed while the union monster in the spell/trap zone is destroyed. Since mirror force dosent negate the attack still goes through and the attacked monster is destroyed
